Symposium Dress Code

Luthiers are not generally known for impeccable fashion sense. So in order to remove one impediment to socially acceptable appearance, David Nichols has instituted the following dress code for the symposium: ASIA Board members, skilled luthiers, exquisite craftspeople, totally reliable vendors, and hep cats shall wear vintage or modern Hawaiian shirts (leis are optional). Others may come as you are.

Mr. Nichols reportedly has over 100 Hawaiian shirts, so your challenge is to wear something older, uglier, or more ill-fitting than what he pulls out of his closet.

“ASIA is an organization where you not only grow your skills, but grow your extended family. I have met so many wonderful, knowledgeable people through this organization.” ~Michael Dickinson, Martin Guitar
